About me

I am a petroleum engineer graduated from the Industrial University of Santander, Colombia. However, despite my career profession, my passion lies in data - its processing, analysis, and utilization to contribute to informed and supported decision-making. For this reason, I have taken courses and utilized content from specialized blogs and websites to educate myself in data science and data analysis. Specifically, I have completed courses on the data science education platform DataCamp and on the online learning platform Udemy.

I am characterized by being responsible, punctual, committed, intelligent, and eager to acquire new knowledge and skills. I possess the ability to learn quickly and have an excellent disposition and attitude towards learning, especially when it comes to innovative and impactful subjects.

Projects

With the intention of strengthening and applying my knowledge in data science, I have undertaken several personal projects known for being challenging, engaging, and based on real data. These projects involve data analysis using software such as Tableau and Microsoft PowerBI, as well as the programming language Python.

Below, I present the most relevant projects I have completed to date:

Data analysis project carried out in Tableau software. Its purpose is to determine key aspects such as the number of jobs postings and the number of applicants per job (data analyst, data scientist, etc.), the years of experience required according to the level of the vacancy (entry level, senior, executive, etc.), the average salary according to the job, among others.

Data analysis project carried out in Microsoft PowerBI software. The objective is to study the behavior of the CPI since 2019, its variation depending on the spending groups and its variation by city, both in monthly and annual periods.
The provided link allows you to download the “CPI Analysis.pbix” file together with the respective data, which can be run with Microsoft PowerBI.

Python project on time series analysis. The objective is to forecast the price of Brent crude for the next 30 days with respect to the last date in the time series (August 7, 2023). The forecast can be obtained using the well-known ARIMA statistical model and with a deep learning model, specifically, a recurrent neural network (RNN) of the LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) type.
